Welcome to Closing the Gap (“we,” “our,” or “the Company”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our services, website, communication channels, and any work performed by our team. By scheduling service, submitting a form, or working with us, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.


1. Services We Provide

Closing the Gap provides:

  • Junk removal and hauling

  • Senior moving services

  • Furniture donation pickup and delivery

  • Home clean-outs and estate clean-outs

  • Community yard sale support

  • Packing/unpacking support

  • Pastoral care or prayer support (optional, never required)

All services are conducted with care, respect, and professionalism.
Pastoral support is voluntary and offered upon request.


2. Service Eligibility

To use our services, you must:

  • Be 18 years or older

  • Have legal authority to allow access to the property and remove items

  • Provide accurate information when booking service

For seniors, adult children or caregivers may request service on their behalf, provided they have permission.


3. Scheduling & Cancellations

Appointments may be scheduled online, by phone, or in person.

Cancellations:

  • Cancellations made 24 hours or more before the appointment will not incur a fee.

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours may result in a small service fee to cover lost labor and time.

Rescheduling:
We will make every effort to accommodate changes, especially for seniors and families facing urgent circumstances.


4. Estimates & Pricing

Estimates may be given:

  • In person

  • Online (based on photos)

  • By phone

Final pricing is confirmed after on-site inspection.
Pricing may vary based on:

  • Volume or weight of items

  • Labor required

  • Disposal fees

  • Travel distance

  • Special handling

All pricing complies with California consumer protection laws requiring transparency, clarity, and no hidden fees.


5. Payment Terms

Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing.

We accept:

  • Cash

  • Debit/credit card

  • Electronic payment (if enabled)

  • Invoice payments (for approved clients)

Late payments may incur reasonable fees as allowed by California law.


6. Access to Property

By scheduling service, you confirm that:

  • You have permission to enter and work inside the property

  • The area is safe for our team to work in

  • Pets are secured

  • Any hazardous materials or unsafe conditions are disclosed in advance

We reserve the right to refuse service if safety is a concern.


7. Donations & Disposal

We make every effort to donate usable items, but acceptance depends on:

  • Condition of items

  • Availability of donation partners

  • Health or safety guidelines

Items not accepted for donation will be disposed of properly.

We do not guarantee that every item can be donated.


8. Limitations of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by California law:

  • We are not liable for pre-existing damage, structural issues, or unsafe conditions.

  • We are not responsible for items not disclosed, hidden, or mixed in with trash.

  • We are not liable for loss of sentimental value.

  • We are not liable for delays caused by weather, traffic, emergencies, or third-party vendors.

For moving services, basic moving protections apply as required under California law.


9. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Identify items that should NOT be removed

  • Communicate clearly which items are for donation, keeping, or disposal

  • Remove or secure valuables and personal documents

  • Provide safe access to work areas

We are not responsible for items removed due to lack of clear instructions.


10. No Guaranteed Outcomes

While we serve with compassion and faith-based encouragement, we cannot guarantee:

  • Donation acceptance

  • Availability of yard sale space

  • Specific spiritual or emotional outcomes

  • Availability of specific dates/times for service


11. Pastoral Support Disclaimer

Any prayer or spiritual encouragement offered by Pastor Philip:

  • Is voluntary

  • Is not required to receive service

  • Does not replace medical, legal, or mental health care

  • Is offered only upon request

This ensures compliance with California’s consumer protection & religious freedom laws.


12. Privacy & Communication Consent

By contacting us, you consent to receive:

  • Phone calls

  • Emails

  • Text messages related to your service

Marketing messages require separate express consent, in accordance with A2P 10DLC and TCPA rules.

Your information is never sold to third parties.


13. Photo/Video Permission

With your permission, we may take before/after photos of the work area for:

  • Training

  • Marketing

  • Documentation

You may decline photo usage.


14. Cancellation of Service by Closing the Gap

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel service due to:

  • Safety concerns

  • Hazardous materials

  • Unreasonable demands

  • Harassment or abusive behavior

  • Conditions outside the scope of our services


15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.

Any disputes will be handled through mediation or arbitration before court action whenever possible.


16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically to reflect legal changes or improvements to our services. Updated Terms will be posted on our website with a new “Last Updated” date.
